Why Ubud's jeep tour goes to Batur
Ubud is rice fields, rivers, and village roads. The volcanic tracks are about 1½ hours north in Kintamani, so every Ubud jeep sunrise tour drives you there first. The road climbs past Tegallalang's rice terraces to the rim of the Batur caldera. Whether a listing calls it a jeep safari, a volcano jeep tour, or a jeep ride from Ubud, this is the drive it means.
Of the main tourist areas, Ubud is the closest. Pickup is around 03:00 instead of about 02:00 from Canggu, Seminyak, or Nusa Dua, and you are back by mid-morning.

Ubud villa pickups at 03:00
- Put the villa name and a map pin in the hotel field. Rice-field villas without a sign are hard to find at night.
- Tell night security or your host that a driver is coming.
- Lay out a warm layer and closed shoes the evening before.
- Skip the hotel breakfast; breakfast is served on the mountain.
What to do with the rest of the day
Most guests are back by mid-morning, nap, and spend the afternoon at a spa or a café. Keep rafting or the ATV for another day; after a 03:00 start, most people are too tired for the river.
For more mountain, book the Kintamani day instead: the same sunrise jeep, a hot spring with the ticket included, a coffee tasting in Tampaksiring, and a rice-terrace stop on the way back to Ubud, for Rp 1.300.000 per person.

Sunset jeep tour from Ubud
If 03:00 is too early, the sunset jeep leaves Ubud around 15:30, takes 4–5 hours, and costs the same. The viewpoint is usually quieter in the evening.
