Bali ATV waterfall: natural falls vs made track sections
Updated · By the Bali Activity Tours desk in Ubud
Short answer
Most Bali ATV tracks do not have a big natural waterfall. When a listing mentions a waterfall, it is usually a made waterfall section built on the arena track — a short stretch of falling or pouring water you ride through — not a tall natural cascade like Tegenungan. Our Sedang trail at All New Bali Adventure has a small waterfall section plus river crossings and the lion-head tunnel. From Rp 700.000 with lunch and insurance.
Why Bali ATV waterfall ads rarely mean a big natural falls, how made track sections differ, what Sedang has, and how to ask before you book.

What guests mean by a Bali ATV waterfall
Searchers type “Bali ATV waterfall” when they want water on the ride: spray, a photo, and a break from dry dirt. Listing photos and marketplace titles often show water, so it is easy to expect a tall natural falls beside the track.
That expectation usually does not match the product. On Bali ATV arenas, a “waterfall” is almost always a made feature on the trail — a short section with water poured or falling over rock or concrete — not a full natural waterfall stop like the ones you visit on a sightseeing day.
Natural waterfall vs made waterfall section
A natural waterfall is a river drop in the landscape: Tegenungan, Gitgit, or the cascades you see from an Ayung raft. Guests walk or float to those. They are not part of most ATV arena designs.
A made waterfall section is built into the off-road track. Water is directed so riders pass under or beside it for a few seconds. It is real water and a real splash, but it is a track feature, not a canyon falls. Most Bali ATV tracks that advertise a waterfall are describing this second type — and many tracks have none at all.
| Natural waterfall | Made waterfall section on an ATV track | |
|---|---|---|
| What it is | A river cascade in the landscape | Water built into the arena trail |
| How long you see it | A visit or a raft pass | Usually a short stretch of the ride |
| How common on ATV tickets | Rare as the main ATV feature | Common when a listing says “waterfall” |
| On our Sedang trail | Not a tall natural falls stop | A small waterfall section, plus river crossings |
Most Bali ATV tracks do not have a big waterfall
When we compare jungle ATV products near Ubud, most arenas do not include a big waterfall. Some have river crossings or puddles only. Some add a small made waterfall section. A few listings use waterfall language for any water on the photo.
So if a big natural waterfall is the reason you are booking, do not rely on the word “waterfall” in the title alone. Ask whether the water is a made track section or a natural falls, how long you spend there, and whether it is on the same muddy trail as the mud and any tunnel.
- Is the waterfall a made section on the arena track, or a natural cascade?
- Is it a small stretch you ride through, or a tall falls you stop at?
- Are river crossings and mud on the same trail, or mostly village-road riding?
- Is lunch and insurance in the rupiah rate?
What the Sedang ATV has
Premium ATV adventure runs at All New Bali Adventure on Jl. Raya Krasan in Sedang: about 7–8 km on a 360cc quad, a jungle trail ridden once, not a loop track. The water features are a small waterfall section and river crossings, plus the lion-head tunnel with water at the entrance.
We describe it as a small waterfall section on purpose. It is not a big natural waterfall. Most Bali ATV tracks do not have a big waterfall either. The ride is sold for deep mud, the tunnel, and that short water section — with lunch, boots, helmet, and insurance in the ticket from Rp 700.000.
Want taller waterfalls the same day?
If you want canyon waterfalls after the quad, book the ATV and Ayung rafting combo. The Sedang arena is about 15 minutes from the Ayung base. Rafting is Class II–III with jungle walls and waterfalls on the river, departures 08:30, 11:00, and 12:00, last booking 12:00. From Rp 1.035.000 per person for three or more, with 10% already off.
